We’re the bookie’s.

No not gambling!  We’re into books!

You’ve seen us around,  always buying books in the weirdest of places.  Stan’s the bookman.  Jen’s the bookman’s wife.

Oddly enough, we have been doing this since about 1990.  The boys were birthed into books. (our own little bookends!)  David can still remember moving around boxes of books when he was about 8 years old.

We have 4 sons. Sean is the oldest with 2 boys of his own (Jonah and Christopher).  Stacy is second, single, living in Naniamo.
Eric is the third, with a fiancee, Tiffany.  He’s been in the Navy now for about 4 years.  Eric and Tiffany are now expecting their first grandchild, the 3rd for Stan and I.  We’re hoping for a grand daughter, since we have 2 grand sons.  David, whom we have mentioned above.  Single.  Entering the army.  So there are all our bookends,  entertaining, wonderful, intelligent, and rather good – looking all of them.  (a mother’s bias!)

Jen’s favorite books are;  The Power Of One, Tandia, Poisonwood Bible, The Deep End Of The Ocean, Tracing Iris, Pigs In Heaven, Still Life With Elephants.

Favorite authors are, Harlan Coben,Barbara Kingsolver, Bryce Courtney, Jenny Gunn.

I love to collect children’s books, and have quite the collection of beautifully illustrated ones, including fairey books, angel books, and dragon books.  I love Shel Silverstein books, Curious George, Winne The Pooh, Robert Munsch.  I also love to collect tarot cards.

Stan reads James Rollins, James Patterson, Janet Evanovich, James Clavell, Wilbur Smith, Patrick MacManus, and Stuart MacLean.

He loves the hunt of an old treasure of a rare book.  He finds it fascinating to explore what these books are worth when he brings them home.  He also has quite a collection of rare and expensive books.

Hi I’m Sandy, and I started a bookclub 11 years ago with my friend.

I was a customer at Fireside before I started working here.My favorite books so far are “ Snowflake and the Sacred Fan”,“ A Thousand Splendid Suns”, and “ Memoirs of a Geisha”.

I am Richard and my interests in reading are in Mystery, Adventure, and British Romance.

Frederick Forsythe, Ken Folliet, Jack Higgins, Ian Rankin, Reginald Hill, Rosmund Pilcher, and E.V. Thompson, are among my favorites.In the distant past (far distant), I read many of the classics.All in all, books are my hobby and my main interest outside of family.
