What’s New at Fireside Books?

We have been busy getting the store reorganized and we are almost done. 🙂

We have 2 new faces at the store. Two of our daughters, Shelby and Brittney, will be working in the store through the summer.

Fireside Books is open 7 days a week. 9:30 – 6pm. We are open till 9pm for the Tuesday night street market.

BC and Canada Books

We have gathered all of the Canadian and BC Fiction, Non Fiction, History, War, RCMP, Forestry, Biography and Coffee Table books into one aisle. Everything BC or Canadiana can be found in Ailse 7. Lot’s of Local author fiction and non fiction.



Today’s books are an example of our selection of NEW books. All of these NEW books shown are 20% off the cover price. The Handmaid’s Tale sold out last week but we now have it back in stock.

Our used book inventory continues to grow with over 95,000 used books in stock. Fiction, Non Fiction, Kids, Classics and Rare/Collectible books, we have it all.

Come and check out our newly set up BC/Canadiana section in Aisle 7. A great selection of BC books broken into categories like – Coastal BC, Vancouver(Mainland), Interior/North, BC Fiction, BC History, BC Travel/Recreation, BC Poetry, and BC Memoirs/Biographies. All of our Canadiana is now grouped together with books by region, non fiction, fiction, history and Coffee table books.



Book of the Day!

What is old is new again. I keep selling out of used copies of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale so I have brought in a few NEW copies in Trade Paperback(Large softcover). These are selling at 20% off the cover price.


There is now a new sign up on the Middleton Ave side of the store to help people find the store easier.

A HUGE shout out to Greg, Ken, and Terry who came out to help put the sign on the building. I can’t Thank you guys enough!!!

Book of the Day: Local Qualicum Beach Author

Michael Patrick Mullaley was born in London, England. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy, the author held various jobs, including mining and a security guard before becoming a journeyman lineman with B.C. Hydro. this is his fourth book and is currently working on his fifth book. Mike and his wife Anne live in Qualicum Beach, BC.

Today’s book of the day is on the NEW book rack and is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. I’ve had so many people asking for this one that I brought it in NEW at 20% off the cover price.
